How hot are our islands?
To explore the data we generated, explore time-series maps by island.
Aruba
This map shows heat distribution in Aruba’s barios (neighborhoods) over the past 12 years.
Aruba is a unique case-study in this project, in that much of the land surface temperature measurements are unavailable due to persistent cloud cover. You can read more about Landsat Data Gaps here.
*Barios are classified as NA if less than 75% of the area has data.
Curaçao
This map shows the distribution of heat across Curaçao’s barios (neighborhoods) over 12 years.
Jamaica
This map shows the distribution of heat across Jamaica’s districts over 12 years.
Jamaica has data gaps in much of the center of the island, caused by persistent cloud cover in those regions. You can read more about Landsat Data Gaps here.
*Districts are classified as NA if less than 75% of the area is covered.
