Tailor-Made Heat Maps for Caribbean Island States climate project launched

The project 'Tailor-Made Heat Maps for Caribbean Island States' was officially launched with kick-off meetings. Among the attendees were the project leaders, technical experts and national UNESCO commissions from Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Jamaica. The initiative focuses on developing satellite-based climate heat maps and analyzing local temperature data. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly and school children who are affected by the increasing extreme heat are central to the project.
